Hi Andy. Sorry it’s taken so long to do this - slipped my mind till now! Natalie has written something as well as she thought it would be helpful to give a student perspective. My daughter started maths tutoring at the start of year 10 and has just taken her GCSE exams. She struggles with maths due to ADHD and dyspraxia - these particularly affect her retention and recall of information and her confidence when it came to maths was very low two years ago. Andy has been a brilliant tutor and her confidence noticeably improved almost immediately. She stopped feeling overwhelmed by maths (to the point she avoided it as much as possible) and did loads of revision and practice papers in the run up to the exams. She has really benefited from Andy’s method of teaching and willingness to go over things again when needed. She’s also used the skills she’s developed with Andy in other areas of her learning as well. Highly recommended!Natalie says ‘Andy was patient, explained things clearly in detail and made sure I fully understood before moving on, he was encouraging, let me choose what to work on, and made sure we covered things I didn’t seem to understand.
My 16 year old daughter had several Maths lessons with Andy after he kindly fitted her in at short notice, just a few weeks before her GCSEs started. He made us both feel welcome and comfortable. He always discussed with her which topics she wanted to cover and therefore maximised the time they had available. His manner was very patient and he explained things in more than one way if necessary, which made her feel able to ask questions. He also talked about exam technique and gave her some great advice which I'm sure helped her to pass her GCSE Maths. I would hightly recommend Andy as a Maths tutor.
